Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Mayong village in Marigaon district of Assam. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in the Morigaon district of the state of Assam in India. It is located about 30 km east of Guwahati.The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is at a distance of about 48 kilometers by road from Guwahati which is a 1-hour drive via a road that passes by the River Brahmaputra and a small portion of the village of Mayong. The sanctuary covers an area of about 38.8 square kilometers and has a great population of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.

It is located about 50 kilometers away from Guwahati and from Guwahati; it takes approximately one and a half hour to reach the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Do not forget to explore the sanctuary through a wildlife safari where you will get the opportunity to sight many one horned Rhinos for which the sanctuary is famous, some Wild Pigs, varieties of birds, several orchids and wild buffaloes.
