Night Safari At Kaziranga Wildlife

Kaziranga National Park is the most famous wildlife reserve amongst the many wildlife sanctuaries and reserves of Assam. This National park is recognized greatly for sheltering the fast diminishing species of One Horned Indian Rhinoceros which is spotted exclusively in this reserve. Apart from the one horned Indian rhinos which are of great significance to the park, there are also other wild animals found in the Park which include elephants, tigers, bear and panthers. 

The grasslands and wetlands of the region have fostered several exclusive varieties of the Bird life. The park is also a dwelling to more than one hundred species of migratory birds and reptiles like the common Cobra, king cobra as well as Indian Python.

The visitors can book themselves a Jeep Safari ride for all the four zones of the park which are the Bagori Zone, Kohora Zone, Agaratoli Zone and Burapahar Zone as well as the Elephant Safari which is available for only two zones of the park which are Kohora Zone and Bagori Zone.

The Kaziranga National park remains closed between the months of May and September which is the monsoon season because of heavy rains in the region. People who are keen to travel around and discover the jungle with a Jeep can choose the option of night Safari and cover longer distances within a short period of time. 

On these tours, you will definitely be accompanied by trained nature guides or escorts which will take about three to four hours. The Jeep tours are carried out without causing any commotion to the wildlife of the national park.Night Safaris are offered in these reserve forests offers excellent opportunity to see nocturnal animals. Some of the frequently seen animals include Civets, Jackal, Porcupine, Hynea, Fox, Sloth bear Jungle cat, Blue bull and Cheetal. 

The elephant safari allows only four tourists to enjoy the ride at one time and one mahout at a time. The safari charges comprise riding charges along with the entrance fee although the Camera fee is optional and you need to pay only if you are carrying it along with you.

You have to be available at the pick-up point through a jeep in order to take the elephant ride after which you will be transferred back in the similar way. The forest department arranges two shifts of jeep safari for its visitors where the jeep is allowed to carry only six people at a time. The Jeep safari can cover a bigger area than the elephant safari which can be easily booked from the nearby nerve centers.
