The Corbett National Park was established in the year 1936 and was known to be Hailey National Park. Right after India's independence, the park was named as Ramganga National Park but later in the year 1956, it was again renamed after Jim Corbett. Jim Corbett was the well popular hunter turned conservationist as well as an author who played the most important role in the establishment of this national park. The entire region of the National park which spreads over an area of about 520 square kilometers had come under Project Tiger in the year 1973.

Day 1 : Explore The Corbett National Park

Corbett Falls 

Corbett Waterfalls is positioned to be found on the Ramnagar - Kaladhungi highway in Nainital district. Nainital is one of the most well famed hill stations in India and also one of the best places to visit near Delhi.The Corbett Falls is found at a distance of 38 kilometers from Nainital, 5 kilometers from Kaladhungi and 26 kilometers from Ramnagar.Corbett Falls is a picturesque water fall which is bounded by thick dense wood forests falls down from a height of 20 meters in to a pool. Get ready to get captivated on hearing the pleasing sound of the waterfall that blends perfectly with the sweet chippings of the birds.The waterfall is not very immense and also a point to note is that bathing in the falls is not at all allowed. However, you can deeply enjoy the natural beauty around the place and soak in its beauty entirely.

Jim Corbett Museum

The Jim Corbett museum was officially established by some forest officers in the year 1965. Jim Corbett had built this house in the year 1922 for himself at Choti Haldwani. This place now houses the Jim Corbett museum in his loving memory. The museum lies at a distance of about 25 kilometers from Haldwani, 32 kilometers from Ramnagar and almost 34 kilometers from Nainital.The Jim Corbett Museum is a very well famed museum situated in Choti Haldwani on the Ramnagar road near Kaladhungi Town.This Museum is basically a single storied bungalow which is built using stone and lime mortar on a high plinth. Previously, this house has also served as a winter abode for Jim and his sister Maggie.

Before Jim left India in the year 1947, he sold the entire property to his0 friend Babu Chiranji Lal. Afterwards, later in the year 1965, it was sold to the forest department for setting up this particular museum.

Jim Corbett National Park

The Jim Corbett National Park is a major sheltering zone for the Bengal Tigers of India. It is also considered to be one of the most well known tourist spots of Uttarakhand and also among the best places to visit near Delhi.The park is settled at a distance of approximately 4 kilometers from the Ramnagar Railway Station, 65 kilometers from Nainital and about 261 kilometers from Delhi.The Jim Corbett National Park which is situated in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand is said to be India's oldest and the most famous National Park.
